Ultimately Inapplicable is a term used in Heir to the Stars to describe an attribute or status that cannot be classed with being.
There are of course different kinds or ways of being (categories). However, Ultimately Inapplicable eliminates investigation as the attribute in question (age, weight, height, birth, name, gender, family, physiology, etc.) cannot be determined even by the most fundamental and the broadest classes of entities. No distinction exists, and there is no way in making 'categories of being' apply to the attributes that are Ultimately Inapplicable.
Those that possess a complete "status" that is Ultimately Inapplicable are usually those that are outside all modes and attributes of that Cosmic Heirarchy. There are exceptions though...
